Founded in 2015, Gray Gardens Plant Studio is a design-led atelier creating hand-sculpted planters for residential, hospitality, and commercial environments worldwide.
Established by American-Lebanese artist Danya Ahmed, the practice was shaped between the United States and Lebanon.
A formative period living in a mountain village accessible only by foot—surrounded by cultivated gardens and raw landscape—informed a lasting sensitivity to material, proportion, and environment. The work emerged from a practical need: planters that felt intentional within architectural spaces rather than an afterthought.
Each piece is sculpted by hand in Lebanon and produced in limited, controlled batches. The practice operates at the intersection of art object and functional design—grounded in proportion, surface, and restraint. Forms are developed to integrate with interiors and landscapes rather than compete with them.
Since expanding operations to the United States in 2021, the atelier has collaborated with architects, interior designers, and hospitality partners across North America and the Middle East, with international projects extending to Australia. Gray Gardens remains founder-led with a global outlook, prioritizing craft, clarity of form, and enduring trade relationships.
